How to dig yourself (and your business) out of the spiral down?

In my previous stories on online marketing crypto, I wrote about it being the birthday of COVID-19, which is killing our world. I shared some of my thoughts on how stressful it has been for most of us.

I also revealed how I was a victim of identity theft, and how it ruined our lives, changing the way we came and went forever.

In fact, if it weren’t for this heinous crime, my business wouldn’t be here. I will probably still work in the corporate world. I may not have returned to school to pursue a business degree.

Sometimes the world we live in can be quite fascinating. And it can be very frustrating, frustrating and straightforward, especially when it comes to our business.

I don’t believe it was because of painful memories of the crimes committed against us years ago. But to be honest, I’m struggling with motivation this week.

Maybe you can have a relationship?

One road after another is blocked.

I solve one obstacle and need to deal with another.

I have things I know I should do, but the delay is raising the ugly head that is causing the unwanted delay.

I have a lot of plans, ideas and needs, but I don’t have the energy to complete them.

Do you ever feel the same way?

Where you know you have a lot of things to do but can’t be motivated to do.

But one fire after another is burning, which makes you feel. This can ultimately result in lost leads, conversions and sales.

Truth be told, this is a fact of life for every business and business owner … we will join these ranks every now and then. We are human after all!

The good news is that this decline can be very temporary … if you choose to.

Yes, that’s your choice.

Because the one thing I know for sure is that no one can say or do anything that will suddenly make me act!

Only one person is responsible for this.

Fortunately, this is not the first time I’ve experienced a small lack of motivation, and I know it won’t be the last.

And it helps a lot to know because it’s funky and full of pressure to go straight to the head. It gets easier.

So what do I do when I do that?

First of all, I admit that this is happening and don’t give up on it.

Of course, I make sure that what is supposed to happen has happened. If that means I have to push myself a little to get my to-do list done, then I need to maintain integrity not only with myself, but also with my clients and my team.

And if that means not getting the new plan I wanted, then so be it.

But it also means spending a little time on self-care, self-reflection and even self-health if needed.

What does it look like?

I thought I’d share a list of things you’ll be able to do the next time you feel this lack of motivation. Many of these are the same things I did this week and are already feeling so much better!

  1. It is normal to accept this feeling and remind yourself that it will pass.

  2. Open your Thanksgiving magazine and write down all the things you are grateful for in terms of your business. The more you focus on the positive, the easier it will be to turn your point of view away from the negative.

  3. Why remember yours? Why did you start your own business? What purpose are you serving?

  4. Go back to your business goals or be clear about them. Goals are big motivators when you are connected to WHW.

  5. Surround yourself with people who will promote, encourage and cheer you up. This is one of the roles I play with my consulting clients.

  6. Avoid watching the news and reading negatively on social media. It is the worst thing to remind you of all the diseases in the world.

  7. Do something that develops your spirits. Whether it’s going for a walk, exposing your favorite hobby, or playing with kids / grandchildren, whatever makes you happy will get you fired again.

  8. If possible, run for a week. I do this every few months when I can. I like checking in at local B&B and taking the time to recharge my batteries. I like to choose B&B and boutiques because it feels good that I am also supporting small businesses.

  9. Use the morning to your advantage and then, take care of the important things on your to-do list before the day’s weight comes down to you. There are mornings when most people are more productive, so instead of scrolling through social media with morning coffee, focus on the tasks at hand and leave out the potential negative impact that could affect the rest of your day.

  10. Take care of yourself by eliminating sugar and high carbs from your diet. Get some exercise, practice fasting from time to time, and get a good night’s sleep. I know this is a huge proposition but it is worth the effort. For me, my brain fog is gone, and I’ve felt better than ever in my life since I started eating less carbs and focused more on my health.   11. Give yourself a personal reward for doing something every day this week that will help your business. You may follow up with leads, post some valuable posts on social media urging you to get in touch or send a newsletter. Whatever it is, set a goal that comes with a reward.

  12. Read an inspiring book. Who are the heroes of your life who have inspired you to come into business and fulfill your purpose? Read this inspiration and contact them again.

  13. Read client reviews and consider how to work with this client. Remember how amazing it was to know what effect you had on them.

I hope this list inspires you to find a way to stay active and find a way in your business. Remember, every successful business person is going through the same thing as you.

If you want your business to survive and thrive, it is important to realize that your level of motivation will play a key role in your success.

Yes, you will have moments of doubt. We all do! But if you have doubts about the choice, either doubt it or put this distraction aside and keep going. You will be amazed at what you can do!
